Hyperstene with Leather Bail

This is a new piece made with hyperstene and art clay silver. The stone has beautiful stripes that change with different angles of light. It has an unusual animalistic quality to it so I continued the theme by surrounding the stone with texture that reminds me of a crocodile's hide. This pair of ear rings came about when I purchased some red garnet cz's but didn't have the vaguest clue what I was going to do with them. They sat there, mocking me for a while until I said "Enough!" I designed this using those cz's and I think they came out all right.
