Every Wednesday night I have a group of fabulous gals here at my home studio. We talk and laugh and make jewelry together, actually weaving memories into the jewelry. As much as I love these gals, it imposes a challenge for me to come up with a new project to teach every week. Pleasing everyone all the time is just not possible. This pair of ear rings came about when I purchased some red garnet cz's but didn't have the vaguest clue what I was going to do with them. They sat there, mocking me for a while until I said "Enough!" I designed this using those cz's and I think they came out all right. I am pretty happy with them although they look better in person than in the photograph.

This dramatic pair of ear rings is made with beautifully cut, light green garnet briollettes, hand wrapped in sterling silver with amethyst and peridot accents. The reflection in the stones is so clear that it catches your eye and holds your attention. A very romantic pair of ear rings, they measure 2 1/4 inches from the top of the french wire to the bottom and 3/4 of an inch wide.

This pair of ear rings was made with rhodochrosite and Swarovski crystals. They have been hand coiled in sterling silver. The coiled ear ring is a lesson I teach for beginners who want to learn to coil and not be overwhelmed. It is a great introduction into this new technique. This is a new design originally made for the girls in my Wednesday night class. They flipped and encouraged me to post them on line. The design has an Art Deco feel, without being overdone. The geometric pattern goes with so much of today's fashion and I think you would get a lot of use out of them. They are light weight but still make a definite statement. This fun part of ear rings are made with the Herringbone Tutorial found in Tutorials. The Bronzite stones are drilled diagonally, allowing the herringbone weave to make a tear drop shape inside a diamond shape which makes the design quite interesting. They are fun and elegant at the same time. I love that combination. I wear a pair like these a lot. They measure 1 3/4 inches from the top of the french hook to the bottom and 3/4 inch wide.

Here is a pendant and ear ring set I made for the class I taught last Friday using the Herringbone Pendant tutorial, the same one that is posted under Tutorials. I had mostly beginners in the class and they did great. It looks harder than it is and once you get the concept, you can make these in no time. This pair of ear rings is made of PMC (precious metal clay). They are .999 percent pure silver that has been hand formed, fired and finished. They are a great pair for every day use, casual, yet can be dressy. They have interesting texture and movement. The long, thin lines of the design are slenderizing to your neck line (my personal favorite attribute). They measure 2 1/8 inches from the top of the french hook to the bottom and are 7/16 of an inch at the widest point.

Here are a fun pair of ear rings that are full of the new things I have learned just recently. They are made with textured sterling which I used a rolling mill to do. Also, they are dome shaped which I did with my new dappling block and drilled with my new foredom. I am having a blast with my new equipment! These ear rings are made from turquoise and sterling silver. The class I teach on Wednesday nights just loves to make ear rings so this is my latest design I whipped up for them. Cari--do they fit in the fabulous catagory? I think they are fun and the girls flipped over them so I guess I did alright. They measure 2 inches from where they drop from the french hooks and are 3/4 inch wide.

This little pair of ear rings is made of black onyx and sterling silver. The wire is twisted at certain points to get this effect. The french hooks are also handmade and twisted to go with the design. What I personally like about these ear rings is that they look substantial but are light weight and do not pull hard on my ears.
